Claude 2: A New Chapter in Large Language Model Conversations

Claude is a large language model that is currently free to use. It ranked second on the chat-based large language model leaderboard by LMSYS, just behind GPT-4. On July 11, 2023, Claude 2 was independently released, offering support for Chinese conversations and no longer requiring Slack for operation. Users from the United States and the United Kingdom can now register to use Claude 2.

About LMSYS Org

The Large Model System Organization (LMSYS Org) is an open research organization. It was established in collaboration between students and faculty from the University of California, Berkeley, and their counterparts at the University of California, San Diego and Carnegie Mellon University. The leaderboard can be accessed at the document's end.

Registration Process for Claude 2

While the original Claude required Slack for operation with varying access and payment models for users, Claude 2 has made it possible for virtually all U.S. and UK users to register for use. The registration link is https://claude.ai/, currently exclusive to those users. Moreover, a notable feature of Claude 2 is its support for document uploads, with the capacity to handle up to 5 documents at once, each up to 10MB, in various formats including PDF, Docx, TXT, CSV, MD, ini, etc.

Key Improvements in Claude 2

• Enhancements in encoding, mathematics, and reasoning which reflect in higher test scores, such as 76.5% in the multiple-choice section of the bar exam and over 90% in GRE reading and writing exams.
• Increased input and output length allows users to submit prompts of up to 100K tokens, enabling Claude to manage extensive technical documents or books, and to write longer outputs like memos, letters, or stories in a single go.
• Improved coding capabilities demonstrated by increased scores on Python coding tests and elementary math problems.

Future Updates and Live Streaming

With summer approaching, updates to the "夏天来了" public account will decrease. However, plans for live streaming sessions on data analysis and Python quantitative analysis are in the pipeline. Topics will include the latest Pandas 2.0 features, efficient Pandas usage, business data analysis, data visualization, customer analysis, demand forecasting, growth hacking, financial data analysis, machine learning, and more.
